Winters are around the corner and winter trends are close behind. There are also plenty of festivals lined up for the coming months, and this is the perfect time to give your home a makeover. We’ve picked out our favorite styles for the season and we’d love to know what you think of them.
Floral it up!
Who doesn’t love florals? We definitely do! In fact, if it were up to us, we’d stay on the floral train all year round and we’ve figured out the perfect way how. One of the best ways to do this is to bring the beauty of florals and the dark richness of fall colors together.
Dark interiors are very on trend right now and adding floral to the mix will create a gorgeous blend of mystery and liveliness. You can opt for floral bedspreads, linens, cushions, curtains or even floral wallpaper or paintings. We recommend picking larger prints as they have a lovely vintage feel and make your décor look chic but not too busy.
All that Glitters isn’t Gold
Luxe Décor is hot, hot, hot and this autumn and winter, it’s making an appearance all decked up in ochre and burnished gold. Use muted and subtle shades of gold paired with rich fabrics like velvet, and offset by modern furniture and art pieces. This will give your home just the right amount of opulence.
But take care not to overdo it or you’ll have a gaudy mess on your hands. Stick with one large item in ochre or gold, like a plush rug or an oversized mirror with gilded edges, and keep everything else toned down. Alternatively, you could also use several smaller décor items, like cushion covers, vases, wall décor pieces, or candelabras in these colors for a healthy sprinkling of decadence throughout the house.
In Autumn, We use Pink
Ah, Pink! Some love it, some hate it, but we belong (wholeheartedly) to the first group. The trick with pink is to use rosy, old-fashioned pinks in the autumn, and choose muted dusty hues rather than bright ones. It’s a simple color to incorporate and is really pleasing to the eye, especially when paired with metallic furniture and beautiful greys. This also goes hand-in-hand with the floral trend; pink toned flowers on a dark base will make your heart stop.
Winter Be Back to Black
Some say brown is the new black, while others favor navy. We’ve got nothing against these colors; we love them, in fact. A good navy is amazingly versatile as a base and brown is a classic fall color, but nothing will ever be the new black!
Black accessories are huge for this autumn and winter, which give you just the right pops of black in your décor. Pair it up with snowy white hues and wood furniture for a timeless look or you can even go with black metal furniture to class it up with a modern touch.
Wow! That’s a whole bunch of ideas right there and we can already see your homes transforming in front of our eyes. Doesn’t it look pretty as a punch? And now … let the festivities begin!
